A medical first for Romania – the first International Course in Hip Arthroscopy

Interactive operations broadcast live, minimally invasive surgical techniques and practical sessions are just some of what will be on offer to participants at the first International Course in Hip Arthroscopy to be held in Romania, on 24 and 25 August this year, at the "Dr Carol Davila" Central Military Emergency University Hospital (SUUMC). The event is organised by the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinic of the SUUMC, with the support of partners from civil society working in medical research, innovation and development, including in specialist training and professional development. The course will be led by Colonel Dr Ion Bogdan Codorean, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinical Department (SUUMC), and Dr Ehud Rath of the Sourasky Medical Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel, and is aimed at specialists in orthopaedics and sports traumatology. What makes this event new is that it provides a platform for dialogue between experts in the field and for the exchange of best practice in the diagnosis and treatment of hip joint injuries — known to be complex conditions, carrying a range of risks and complications that can arise after surgery.
